Which is more important, Freedom or Security?

Ok. It have been a long time since I last posted a blog. I am going to write about my opinion of which I think is more important, freedom or security. I believe that freedom is more important than security because with freedom, I am able to say what I want and do what I want. That would be Freedom of Speech. I believe I should be able to do these things because they do not harm the others and they are perfectly fine for us.
Although, with too much freedom, people can be brutish, nasty and short; do things such as murdering, robbing and kidnapping a person and harm the others. In my opinion, the human nature could do a lot better and people should learn to get along with each other, and not harm the others.
Ok, it's time to talk about security. It is actually a good thing, it protects us, our rights and our nation from any other hostile nations. But, with too much security is not necessary. We need our privacy and space, but then, we would need someone to protect us and our rights.
It was pretty hard for me to decide which was more important, freedom or security at first, but then I thought more about it and wrote down good and bad things about both of them and I now understand both good and bad sides of both. I would have to go with freedom if I had to give up either one and have the one I didn't give up. I guess I am willing to give up security for the freedom.
